On Thursday, January 23rd, the Franklin Central High School Creative Writing Club and History Clubs will be hosting a community event that features some outstanding Franklin Township ladies with the following program: “FC Suffrage Symposium.” Guest panelists will include school board members Mrs. Foulk and Mrs. Shore, Franklin Township Historical Society President Nancy VanArendonk, FCHS Principal Jenni Matasovsky, and Coach Kathy Stricker. Topics will include voting, Title IX, and other pivotal moments in Franklin Township women’s history. The Indiana Historical Society’s traveling “Indiana Women’s Suffrage Centennial” exhibit will be on display, interactive stations will be offered, and refreshments will be served from 3-4:30PM in Franklin Central High School’s Media Center by entering Main Door #1. All community members are invited to attend this all-inclusive event!
With the help of the Franklin Township Education Foundation (FTEF) and FCHS Media Center, the clubs are delighted to host a very special guest: Mrs. Florabel Willsey, who is the most tenured Franklin Township graduate that will celebrate her 100th birthday this spring!
