1860s dresses on display at our 2013 Vintage Clothing Show
The public is invited to attend the Franklin Township Historical Society’s Vintage Clothing Show on September 8 from 11 a.m to 4 p.m., at Grace Church, 5605 S. Franklin Road (across from the Franklin Road Library). See antique garments from the 1840s through the 1970s, including authentic Civil War uniforms, Victorian gowns, flapper dresses, antique undergarments, and more!
While some of the clothing shown is from the Historical Society’s collection, many of the pieces on display are on loan from private collectors. Don’t miss your chance to see these rare, one-of-a-kind antiques! Plus, you can learn about period fabrics, sewing history, and garment preservation, and even dress up in some vintage styles yourself!
Admission to the show is free, though donations are gladly accepted. Refreshments will be offered. We will be offering our publications and memberships, as well as an extremely limited number of antique clothing items, for sale.
