The Franklin Township Historical Society will host its annual “Old Fashioned Christmas” at its 147-year-old Meeting House, 6510 S. Franklin Road, on Sunday Dec. 9th at 6:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
The Old Fashioned Christmas will again include candle luminaria lining the pathway, the singing of carols accompanied by the building’s original antique pump organ, readings of “A Visit from St. Nicholas” and the Christmas story from Luke 2, punch and cookies, etc, but new this year will be a presentation on how Santa has changed over the decades, culminating with an in-person visit from the Victorian St. Nicholas!
The entire event will last no more than one hour. The Meeting House, built 1871, is on the National Register of Historic Places.
