Thank you to everyone who braved the inclement weather to come to this year’s Old Fashioned Christmas at the Meeting House! Special thanks to organist Jim Kemp who played our 19th-century pump organ, and Theresa Kemp who sang a solo.
At the event, FTHS President Nancy VanArendonk talked about local history and some of the items in the Meeting House, and board member Bill Clark read the Christmas story from the gospel of Luke. Everyone enjoyed punch and cookies and joined in the Christmas caroling.
Our live tree was donated by Jeanne and Barry Aydt, and has been replanted in Franklin Township. (Jeanne is the granddaughter of Franklin Township pioneer and inventor Garrett Henricks, who is buried in Piner Cemetery.)
