The 1871 Meeting House of the Franklin Township Historical Society has been getting a facelift in a variety of ways this spring! One of the more noticeable changes is the fact that our old red wooden sign has been replaced with a new sign of aluminum and aluminum composite. The sign is of the same size and was placed in the same location as our older sign in order to avoid any city permit complications, and shortly after its installation new perennial flowers were planted beneath it. Be sure to check it out when you drive by or visit during Open Hours!
In addition, the window restoration project has now been completed with all eight of our 148-year-old windows removed, repaired, and now reinstalled. Our thanks to Bill Clark for coordinating things with the contractors and for overseeing this project. The restoration project also includes refinishing the windowsills.
