Not directly related to Franklin Township, but today’s interesting history item comes from the Indianapolis Star: Apparently a visitor to Garfield park found some old human bones, and after investigation, IMPD believes they may be from a previously unknown Civil War-era cemetery.
Indianapolis has many pioneer and Civil War-era cemeteries — including a few in Franklin Township — but this would be the first discovered in Garfield Park!
