2026 Open Hours begin this weekend!

Historic brick building of Franklin Township Historical Society, serving as a local museum and community center.
The Franklin Township Historical Society’s Meeting House was built in 1871 as Big Run Baptist Church. Now serving as a museum, the building is on the National Register of Historic Places.

This year’s first Open Hours will be this Saturday, March 7 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Regular Open Hours at the Meeting House are held on the first Saturday and third Sunday of each month, March through October. Admission is free! Come browse our extensive collection of historic artifacts, memorabilia, genealogy records, and more. Our publications are also available for purchase.

The Meeting House is located at 6510 S. Franklin Road (immediately south of The Creek, and directly across from the intersection with Indian Creek S. Road). Please be aware that our 1871 building was constructed without indoor plumbing and has no restrooms. Access to the building requires ascending two small steps.
